If you have Kulith flour, the Kulithacha Pola is a delicious Konkan delicacy that is instantaneous dish with very few ingredients. Kulithacha Pola tastes very great to eat with bhakari or chapati, so if you don't have vegetables at home, you can enjoy hot and crunchy Kulithacha Pola with bhakari or chapati.

Ingredients :

1) Oil
2) Two Finely Chooped Onions
3) Turmeric
4) Baking Soda
5) Spice Or Green Chillies
6) Salt
7) Water
8) Two Bowls Of Finely Ground Kulith Grain Flour

Procedure :

1) To make Kulithacha Pola, first take a large round vessel. In that vessel, take two bowls of finely ground kulith grain flour. Then add two finely chopped onions, half a teaspoon of turmeric, a pinch of baking soda (if you add a pinch of baking soda to the batter, then the kulithacha pola become more crunchy), add one and a half teaspoon of spice. For spiciness if you like green chillies rather than spice then as per your liking add two finely chopped green chillies in this batter instead of spice.
2) First mix all these ingredients by hand in the batter of Kulith and then add a little water to it and mix well. The dough mixture must be thick enough to form small, flattened round balls. Then make a large ball of this homogeneous mixture.
3) Then apply a little oil on your hands and make small flattened dough balls.
4) Then turn on the gas over a medium flame and place a pan on it. Once the pan is well heated, add two teaspoons of oil on the pan. Once the oil is well heated, roast these round flattened balls in this oil on high flame till they turn reddish-brown on one side. Pour a little oil on top of these Kulith flattened balls as required, so that the flour does not stick to the pan.
5) After roasting the kulith flattened balls on one side, turn them on the other side and roast them in the same manner. In this way, roast the kulith flattened balls properly on both the sides. The kulith flattened balls are best roasted quickly over a high flame, so it is more likely to be scorched if neglected, so special care should be taken not to do get scorched while roasting the kulith flattened balls.
6) Once the kulith flattened balls are reddish-brown on both sides, remove them to a plate and then turn off the gas. Kulith flattened balls are properly roasted on both sides in such a way that we roast chapati (In Maharashtra, chapati also called as poli.) on the tawa, so kulith flattened balls are also called Kulithacha Pola. In this way, spicy, crunchy and delicious kulithache pole will be ready to eat with chapati or bhakari.
